Read the ad next time John, no sympathy here dude.
Well, not really, IMPORTED LAST YEAR IN ORIGINAL CONDITION, NEVER RACED, could mean that it has never been raced in NZ, but what the hell do I know. I'm cold.

Thanks for the replies - I'm not really upset about it, It just seems that saying that when it has a very questionable history is something that you shouldn’t say, I know maybe I sounded a bit rude and I didn’t mean to be that being the case, but who knows.

I don’t mean to insult him, but I just find his remarks spiteful - If he said "I'm not sure if it was raced", I would have being happy and thanked him but just his remarks seemed very abrupt and hasty to make remarks like the 'zxr and death etc' yea seems nice..

I don’t care I just thought I would share it with everyone, because it was a ideal looking bike.

just in case he doesn’t reply to the reply this is what I said to him:
Not I didn’t miss it not interested in the sale myself - I was asking a serious question for a non trade me member before he called you. I wouldn’t want a TZR I'd be inclined to be buying an RS but whatever tickles your self mate.
(ps speedmedic, No I wasn’t attacking him - I was seriously questioning its history more than anything)

I shouldn’t have posted this – don’t mean any ‘personal grievance to anyone’ just ignore it and let it die..

So why did you ask your question as though the bike had been raced, even though the seller never said anything about racing? It's obvious he took offence at you assuming the worst case scenario and leading other potential buyers away from what is probably a good buy!!
Ok I don’t really get where your coming from? I was asking for a potential buyer, serious question - I don’t see why people wouldn’t want to buy a raced 2smoke, they are normally better looked after in comparison to a majority of the road versions, due to regular strip downs etc.

Nope, sorry he obviously was confused - never met nor looked at 2smokes before

Yep... witness right here buddy. I had a good read last night and went :| yes buy a FAST bike in 89 and then go run same tyres for 16 years good luck.. they wouldnt even wof/reg them here. After working at motat I know what happens to tyres that old, they arent exactly 'useable' most of the time.

But yeah he has quite blatently edited it.. crafty bugger.

Doesn't matter anyway as that was the absolute worst model of TZR ever made and I would suggest that no one ever buy one of those POS. You have been warned. If you must get a two stroke get the NSR or RGV. Better still get a fourstroke unless you are mechanically minded.

Go to technical bulletin 105 in the links.
6 pages of "adjustments" deemed neccessary by Yamaha NZ to prevent these bike from shitting themselves. Who knows whether these mods were carried out on Jap bikes?

Nowt wrong with that. Done a bit of it myself back in the day - in fact I put myself through Uni that way

If he can see an opportunity and take advantage of it what's wrong with that. The original seller got the price he asked, and is therefore presumably happy. The new buyer is offering only what he thinks it's worth. If there's a difference that's Mr davev2's reward for spotting hidden value. Ron Brierley got to be a millionaire by doing exactly that (of course, as a Communist, I don't approve of millionaires, unless they give me a decent cut of the action )

i have nothing against someone making a quick buck over trademe.
I was just saying that he has a bad attitude
the price he payed for me has some suggestion for what its worth...he might have goten a bargain but usualy when it seems to good to be true it is.
another thing is that if a guy is an arse i would rather not buy from him even if it is a good deal, specially if i know he is making money on me.
    hope that clarifies it
