Lightbulb THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, & NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!

my first post so bear with me.
This bike was purchased from SPECTOYS, who imported a container load of road bike 250's early last year & sold the last few off real cheap)! on the North shore last year for $2,200 by Karl (the guy I bought it off) who put 2,000k on it. (he has listings under his mothers username 'witchyone' (his gloves n gear), contact him thru these if you wish. He had it serviced by 'Panmure Motorcycles' early this year. Karl is selling up to get into a mitsi evo. He listed the bike at 6pm, I saw it at 9pm, called him (as any genuine buyer should)! he told me a guy JOHN (where have I heard that name before) had called & was keen & was going to check it out the next day. I asked if it was sold to him (JOHN), he said no as nobody had bid. So I hit the BUY NOW. I asked about delivery to AKLD which karl said he would bring it up (from Tirau) for free (as his add stated "viewing avail AKL/taupo/tirau". I offered him an extra $100 to assist with bringing it up (yep, that unscrupulous side in me coming out) which he accepted. I did get the impression that this chap, JOHN, was a bit miffed that he had missed out.
So the purchase price with shipping was $2,700, plus we had to go out past Eastern beaches to pick it up (its 50k just to AKL, plus about another 30ish) = 160k round trip (factor in gas/time), then I spent a day on it scrubbing/polishing/fairings off etc = more time
so $2,600 you see on trademe soon turns into closer to $2,900. which is the starting bid & also the reserve, I dont see much in the way of profits there.
My wife has a duc 900SL, which is a fine weather toy, she wants a daily rider, so we got the TZR. she rode it & is not into the mechanical torture required to make this thing move, so I relisted it. When I got that question from john -ahhh but is it the same john that missed out on buying the bike in the first place- yes, your honor I got on the defensive, apologies if you arent one in the same.
A guy named RORY from Rotorua called & wanted the bike, asked the right Q's & then hit BUY-NOW. (then started with terms & conditions, ie fresh warrant, new tyre etc) so we didnt do a deal in the end. I dont know this guy, but here is his No. 0274269309.
I am guilty of assuming pple would know the bike wasn't raced by my original add details (yes I did edit it after getting a barrage of 'was it raced' Q's to emphasise that it wasn't).
any questions please call 094206305 or 021344175

Anyone else noticed the new listing?
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Don't know the bike or seller or bidder. Saw the bike & thought 'R1 1900kms $7000 WTF?'

Erm, yeah. Why? (hoping this goes to my glamcat nomination!)

Am just off now to go sit on an GN250 and play with gear and generally hang around Wellington Motorcycles. Yay!
