Friend of mine asked me to post this for him. sorry if its not the appropriate tread area for it...
I'm looking for support in my endeavors to travel to South Africa and the UK for 6 months to advance my clinical training. The course provides trauma theory and practice in South Africa's poorer urban areas, infamous for the highest per-capita trauma incidence in the world. Essentially, ambulance officers pay to practice their trauma skills, and patients who'd otherwise be without assistance are cared for pro bono; education at it's most pragmatic.
The cost of the course was beyond my means, and having reached the conclusion that I'd rather do the work than keep all my stuff, I'm in the process of selling as many of my possessions as I possibly can, including my motorbike. (Friends concerned that I may be having a mid-life crisis should be reassured and reminded that that was definitely LAST year! ;-)
The bike is my beloved 2002 Rossi edition Honda CBR600F4i that I took on the South Island Tour with the E-Riders, and is listed on TradeMe, going for a song, along with many other auctions: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=322057660
I am also holding a big garage sale and live auctions, and if the bike is not sold through TradeMe I will auction it off there to the highest bidder.
Sunday 10th October
480a Evans Bay Parade
Hataitai
Wellington, 6022
Sale: 10am - 4pm
Auctions: on the hour, every hour
This isn't a junk sale in the usual way, but rather everything I feel I don't need right now as I try to advance my level of practice. So there's loads of hopefully desirable stuff (well, I find it desirable, anyway) in good condition at crazy prices; and yes, there's mountains of the usual interesting things to root through too! Everything will be priced up in advance, and with any luck, I'll have enough to fly home again! Please check listings and photos which are being updated daily.

If you feel you can support the project, do please turn up with trailers, wallets and friends; and if you can find ways of circulating this email or otherwise advertising the garage sale and bike auction without annoying people too much, I would be very much obliged. I enclose a PDF which should print 4 flyers if you have a handy notice board at work, and do please let me know if you've been able to promote the project for me
Many thanks
Lachlan Scott
