    Richards Motorcycle Services in J'ville?

Just curious is anyone has taken their bike to Richards Motorcycle Services in Johnsonville, Wellington?

Wanting to take my bike there for a service as its close to home and wondering what they're like

I've had tyres replaced and valve clearances done on the SV, also a few WOFs.

Richard's a top guy and takes care of your bike. Not one scratch. Prices fair too.

My NZ250 had a new muffler and fork seals done there, as well as several WOF's, and he seemed good.

Many many moons ago a mate had a crashed GSX750 (E?) rebuilt there, and thought it took too long and cost too much. But then, this mate of mine was a bit dodgy anyway.

Richard's is my local and I've taken my bucket to him for several small things I couldn't do myself and he's done some minor repairs on my Hornet also. I have found both Richard and Judy awesome to deal with, will go out of their way to help and find cheap parts and treat the bikes with care, even my shitty old bucket. Richard calls a spade a spade and doesn't suffer fools lightly, but if you don't act like a cock when you go in to see him he'll generally be polite, but because he knows his shit you can generally deal with his somewhat abrupt manner, then again, sometimes it's just nice to get decent service from a bike shop instead of a whole lot of bullshit and bravado.

I've taken my bikes to Richard and he's always been great. Wouldn't hesitate to take my bike back to him.

I've had Richard work on my bikes for the last few years. He's a top bloke who really knows his stuff. He'll also give you his honest opinion on any work you're considering.

Get most of my road bike work done there, as others have said, no bs assessments and fair pricing.

    Maintain the dirt bike myself

Richards shop is great. Taken my sons bike there a few times.
The lady that works there (his wife???) was great allways trying to help.
Richard is stright to the point... Had no problems with him at all.

been in there a few times, he's very knowledgeable and is quite happy to recommend a cheaper product if it's fit for what you need it for. That's the mark of good service for me so he gets a big thumbs up

WTF I thought paying a shop to work on your bucket was against the rules...

Only if you have broken 3 drill bits trying to drill out a snapped off gearbox oil level bolt and your husband says "no more".
