But then they'd have had to call it a 655sxc

    Yeah, I think it is.
Mine's got a 17L tank on it, and apart from maybe putting some luggage racks on it, it's a great big bore adventurer.

They never rode it either mate as it is Shweet! Condition wise....
Won't take long for me to bin it, race it, rattle and roll it all in the one sitting I expect... Note to oneself.....ride it like I didn't 'steal it' might help..

I have an 18 litre tank coming, I have heard it can be filled up with more like 20 from empty...That's gonna hurt the arse for sure...means riding longer dammit! Nearly bought this one, it was going for a good price, now it is even better.....Trouble is, he thought it would be $100 USD to ship or thereabouts. $1300 NZD new these are ex Austria. Safari make the larger ones that only bolt onto the standard SXC seat, which I no longer have. This one is the Duke tank, fits on the bikes 1999-2006 I believe....

That would require an LC4 seat.

and to think I'm not satisfied with 19L on my Supermoto. The 11L extra tank is good, but it will be replaced with something more like 20L by the end of the year

990SM has a 19L stock tank. Not nearly enough. Have an extra marine grade plastic fuel tank on the back seat, 11L. Will replace after Grand Challenge with a custom aluminum one, about 20L

I reckon he would get around 280Km at a push ridden in a sensible manner...
BUT, who would do that on a SM...?
So...Reckon around 260Km to reserve maybe? Let's hear it from the rider....

As lame as it sounds... it depends how I ride it. 15L main, 4L reserve. From 15L I've had 140km at a trackday, or 250km ish constantly talking to my right hand.

Usually, I can expect around 200-220km.

After a lot of testing in the last few weekends, I could probably top 250 by sitting at 100-110 down highways, constant throttle etc... but no point doing that is there

I've had a burn on her too. It was brief but fun.
