The K1 has the footpegs too high up for me. I get sore legs. (And when having long-johns and the leather pants on I have problems bending my legs to get feet on to footpegs) So the idea was to move the pegs lower.
My plan was always to make up a set of side plates to replace the originals and fit a set of front footpegs lower down on them, thereby leaving the original bits intact so that the bike can be converted back to original if I, or someone else, in the future feels the need.
Over a beer I was sitting looking at the original setup and wondered if I could lower the pegs temporarily to get a feel of how far down I need them. I realised that by fitting long bolts I could drop the fotpegs below their fittings making the setup approx 4cm lower. Good start I figured.
The result is in the pics. I took her for a test ride and it feels good!
But knowing my self I have a feeling that this temp fix will become permanent...
How bout you? Any similar temporary fixe's that you have done and you never got around to do the permanent one?
