You're thinking of Givi luggage Genie... I use it. Waterproof, lockable, easily removable from bike (so for carrying gear when travelling, take the whole box into the motel room).

Actually I find it better to have the optional soft bags that fit inside the Givi boxes. Much less banging and clunking as you enter some salubrious establishment such as the Chateau Tongariro.

While on the bike, I've always had the problem of keeping somewhere all the everyday stuff: home keys, wallet, coins, mobile phone...

Ummm, Balu's fatty arse scooter (650 burgman) has about 3 from memory tee hee hee. Every now and again I'm envious of them, but then I see the light and remember my bike would look gay with them.

Not necessarily, I distinctly recall that the one I was "wearing" last week had a bag and a tube.
But that might have been different....
