$15K for a 650 Honda, and not for riding?

In some strange way I admire this chap. But a bike is for riding on... If something like that was sitting in my lounge I would most probably, after a few beers, want to know what she sounded like...

May the bridges I burn light the way.

These things are as rare as rockinghorse droppings because....in the day, they seemd to crash on their own, so the ones scrapped were already writeoffs.

I can understand leaving this thing on display forever and never riding it.

But, as for paying money for it: yeah, right.

Yeah me too ... but then I appreciate visits to motorcycle museums such as the one at Rongotea ... or Southward Museum on the Kapiti Coast ... it's a strange job but someone has to do it ..

Needs to be elsewhere (eg. museum) for many to appreciate rather than stuck in a house though.

I know what you mean .. but there's something that doesn't sit right with me about "appreciating" a cop bike ...

ah, it's more about the interesting history of our past I think. I always have a laugh when you see an old Kiwi movie (eg. Good bye pork pie) and see the old HQ/HX cop cars with the cherry on top. And the old "Tit" hats.

I don't get the ex cop bike thing being collectable to the point of the value they are reaching. The things used to be cheap at auction when they flicked them off.

The museum of transport & technology has the collection of Police bikes. They are about the only bunch that would buy it. Cant see him getting 15k for it. I would have liked to known with him when he was spending that 20k.... He might have been dropping $100 bills all over the place

    Red face

The waterbottle would interest me (but not at 15K).

Wouldn't shed a tear if the CBX burnt down in a friggen house fire.

If I had a Veyron it would be on the road - I would have so much money I wouldn't care .. and I could sit in the garage with a smoke and admire it on days when it was wet (Not that I'd worry about it getting wet - I'd worry about my ability to handle the power of a a Veyron in the rain ...)
