Well I got the official quote now from Botany Honda, not as high as first thought:
$996.10, though they can no longer get an ignition barrel so will have to source a 2nd hand one if needed. And I still need a quote from a paint/panel shop to repair the paint damage from when they dropped it on each side

This would bring it up to the same condition it was originally. That's one bloody expensive joyride

They are pulling a rip on the pricing, the petrol cap is very very common on many Hondas of the era, as was the ignition barrel. The fuel cap is identical to my Bros650 and my CB400. Three Allen head bolts, three dummy bolts.
CBR250 cap, the same.
