Ok gang, another newby adv ride around the Raglan area is under way in December.
Plan is to make your way to the Kopua Holiday Camp Ground,
http://www.raglanholidaypark.co.nz/R...ID=21978_.html,
and settle in for drinkies on Fri night.
Various food options are available, from greasies, through to quality dining, (Waikato Style).
A quick stagger across a bridge has you smack bang in downtown Raglan.
Saturday morning, the ride will be a mix of gravel and seal riding, (so that new to adv rides arn't intimidated).
Some sight seeing at various stop offs.
The afternoon will take in various roads to other interesting areas, including the option of "Slippery Creek".
Some of us know this little area as an ego burster, but there is no need to challenge yourself if you feel that it might be a bit much, as the road is now repaired.
Saturday night will see us back at the Kopua Camp, (so there is no need to lug all your gear on the Sat ride).
Sunday will be another relaxed morning of riding, before we all start to split for home.
I have secured two tourist flats at the Kopua ground, but if you want other accom, like tent sites, please book sepereatly.
My accom booking has room for about ten people.
The backpacker accom is fully booked out, but kitchen cabins and one Motel unit is still available,so don't take too long.
There is other accomodation in Raglan if the campground books out of what you need, so contact the local infomation centre.
No worries with fuel supply, even for smallish tanks. If you can get 100kms from a tank, you will be sweet.
There are very experienced muppets on this ride, to help with any flat tyres etc, but please work out your own tube/chain link/tool kit etc requirements.
Also, please post your attendance on the Calendar link
http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ca...010-12-4&c=all
If you have to pull out of attending the ride, please delist your name in the calendar.
This is a social get together. NOT an organised event.
Please understand that you are responsible for your own actions, and that the areas we will be travelling in are public access areas.
No liability will be accepted by myself.
So, let the general chatter and trash talk start.
Ask any newby Q's you like, oh KTM riders are responsible for dishes, chain lubing, and any slave labour required.
As you were.
