Sorry were a bit late posting any pics, had a barbeque to go to as soon as we got home. Then the mongrel computer wouldnt go to the Kiwibiker site.
Will get onto it after work.
Awesome weekend (apart from Nooles's incident with the fence post)
Neat ride home from Kawhia, 128km of "Twisties" to Awakino

I'm puzzled and I may be out of line, but we just don't have accidents on adventure rides and here I am, reading about 2 potentially serious incidents on what was supposed to be a laid back, newby friendly run.
Now obviously, I have almost no information on this and so I avoid jumping to conclusions.
    So tell me, what happened?
Or is there some embarrassment involved and I should just mind my own business?
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

    Hi Bass

There was just one 'incident' on this ride. As I understand it there was a similar departure from the road on a previous ride through the same area (the common factor being both riders hail from Taranaki)

Was a very friendly cruisy ride Bass it was just that someone got carried away looking at scenery and went to wide on a bend hit the loose stuff. And was the only one of a serious nature.
apart from that it was a fab weekend, its was quite good taking a step back in pace and seeing a little more scenery. i got to get a new camera though as the 4mega pixel dont cut it for scenic shots

Now listen ewe I will have ewe know that the Naki is Dairy country, we dont go down the sheep road

As for people falling off bikes Bass, I have yet to go on an adventure ride where no one has fallen off or dissapeared into a ditch. Generally because the speeds are less than road bikes and grass is softer than tarseal no one gets badly hurt. We all have a laugh, take some photos and tell lies later.
Falling off, it happens, you live with it

I agree and have been there often, but that's not what happened this time, eh?
Down to timing I guess, by the sound of it.

Nooles wasn't wearing a fluro safety vest. Thats why he got hurt.
Everyone knows that humans can't get hurt wearing them. (piss take TM)
The positive side, is Nooles got to experience Entenox. To die of old age and not know that feeling of euphoria and numbness would be sad indeed.
    (drugs are bad kiddies, mkay.......)

I am pretty sure they gave me that crap when I broke my leg*.
All I can remember about the gas was laughing while it hurt like hell....
a very strange experience but very painful also.

later on they gave me morphine... now that stuff REALLY worked.

    * the broken leg WAS NOT motorcycle related. It was a sporting injury.

They say Entenox is non addictive. Yeah right.
They took the stuff off me at Townsville horsepiddle, cause I drained a bottle in two nights.
(twas not my fault. The orderly showed me the regulator had a dump valve, that gave bottle pressure, rather than the piddle via lung ingestion).

Off my tits for two nights
(nurse said summit about kidney damage if I continued. Spoil sport)

Ok, here we go. I wont put captions to them all, or i'll be here all night. Dawn took heaps of pics !
We rode round the harbour to a rocky outcrop overlooking Raglan. Cool spot. The old house bus will never see the road again !
