Front running light - 12v LED bulb on a 6v bike

The new law that ses we have to have our lights on - well my old 1982 DR500 (6volt electrics) doesn't like it as the bulbs I get are rubbish, combined with vibration etc. Some bulbs last 1 day, some last a month - very annoying. I rarely if ever ride at night so it has never been an issue.

I have been looking for a 6volt LED but couldn't find one so have fitted a 12volt one as an experiment - AND IT WORKS! It is easily bright enough - on 12v it's crazy bright.

It was less than $15 at JayCar. It's a bit ugly so will look for a better one later.
