What can I say dropping the wife of to workthis morning in the cage on the Porirua - wellington M-way we pull on the left hand side to make way to all the bikes going past. most of the other cages doing the same (wishing they could cut through traffic loike that) when this dam yamaha goes flying past on the left side (brake down lane)
Now that pissed me off. All this cars moving over to allow the bikes through and one decides to use the brake down lane.
I can see why he or she would use it BUT...... Why go so fast on that side you can see the cars moving to the left are you asking for an accident to happen?.
We didnt see you till you shot past. we had just let 3 other bikes past on the right.
Do you have to be different form all the other motorbikes going in the center?
If you are behind meDont ask as I am lost too.

At least they say that inattention on the part of the car drivers is a big factor in the crashes.

Seriously thoiugh, same old shit reporting with one side of the story. Easy to quote stats without proper in depth analysis & information of causes.
Whilst any number of deaths is too many, is 3 over 5 years really that bad? (how many in police chases?).
What a one sided report, sure bike accidents have gone up, so too has acc and registration, however not all or even most of the accidents listed the error of the rider. How many times a day do cars pull out and fail to give way? How many cagers drive around like they own the road caring for nothing smaller than them. They quickly move out of the way of the bashed up landrover, rubbish truck or laurry......

Bikes bare the brunt of all accident statistics victim or culprit. Make no bones, we have all been shafted and ripped off by the new registration/ licensing fee's, but what can we do about it?

I too am very sick of mis-representative statistics, they will be questioned, and hopefully educated. Or put on the naughty list for telling lies.

Don't forget that mad cunt 'JUICED' on his green ZX-10. Surprised that idiot hasn't died yet by the way he rides.

That's right - if you stick your fingers in your ears and go LAH, LAH, LAH, LAH you can pretend it doesn't happen.

No that just means you can not hear it happen.

    It'll still happen.

Wellington has had 2 motorcycle deaths this year alone. A few days apart IIRC.

1 commuting. Tar snakes in the wet on the Thorndon viaduct contributed. But you're not allowed to say that.

You talking about those expansion joint covers on the motorway there? I thought that was just my bikes rooted wheel alignment.

You mean those guys (and gals) that rip down the center with only a helmet for protection?

    How could they be dangerous?

And IIRC the other was clipped by a taxi pulling out which knocked him under an oncoming van (at least that's how it was reported). All the gear in the world wouldn't help there, and depending on how conditions/events, defensive driving may not do much good either...
