[QUOTE=ADVGD;1130197225]Lie down? what lie down? No photo, no evidence, no crash
I do however have photo evidence from that ride of someone coming into a right hand corner too hot and ending up in the ditch
Doh! Just because you're quicker on the camera than me doesn't mean it didn't happen. Care to explain that squished right pannnier![]()
If you're not living on the edge you're taking up to much room!

I like to take a lie down evry ride.........why spoil a habit of a life time...![]()
Well all the talk about these tracks has prompted some northeners to sneak down for 4 days next week. The loose plan is onto the ferry Tuesday morning and thru the Rainbow to Hanmer Srings (the Molesworth is closed until early December)
Hopefully the rain stays away on Wednesday so we can backtrack to do Maling Pass and Edwards valley, Rainbow, Porika, Braeburn to Murchison. If it rains maybe the hot pools and the grand plan becomes a maybe plan.
This is our training regime for the Dusty Butt![]()
Went thru the Rainbow yesterday. Beautiful sunny day but the heavy rain had scoured out the stream crossings and bought down many slips. We were very lucky to get thru cause there was an enormous slip at 50km.
Today was wet all day but Malings is still an awesome ride. Only got 3/4 into Edwards Valley before opting out of crossing flooded streams. Now fine in Hanmer Springs.
Tomorrow we head to Mauria Saddle, Porika and Nelson bound.
Any snow?
I bet you had knobblies on too ya wimp...
Jealous, me?
Only isolated snow in gullies but we were at the snowline on Maling Pass.
A splendid sight was 4 farmhands on horses mustering wild horses in the pissing rain. I decided they must have thought we were the stupid ones being there, because they were being paid.
Correct i'm wearing out a Trackmaster 760, down to about 4mm now.
I'm very appreciative of your recommendation to buy goretex socks. they are rate up there with heated handgrips
Maruia Saddle Rd is in primo condition. a lot of water has been down the streams but they were low today. But Lake Rotoroa has a spring high tide.
This is the slideshow of our trip3 fine days out of 4
