I'm not sure of the planned route, or if one's been planned yet, but ...
This route via Tai Tapu is 86km
This route via Dyers Pass, Teddington, Black Tulip is 88km.
This route via Dyers Pass, Teddington, Port Levy is 81km but includes about 7km of gravel.
All distances are one way, so double to return - in other words you should be fine whatever way we go.
I'd be keen to head to Okains via the 1st route (via Tai Tapu) and back via the 2nd route (via Black Tulip, Teddington). That way we can stop for "refreshments" at the Wheatsheaf on the way back, and it's handier for Flip and Ted to scoot home.
