Biker down - Birdlings Flat (Ch-ch)

Just got back from a ride to the hilltop and on the way back a biffed up bike.Won,t post any details yet as don,t know the seriousness of it. Anyway back to the ride,I was 5 minutes further down the road when the valentine went off and 6 secs later disco lights and sirens from the boys in blue.I was not speeding (much) but had slowed down after the accident but its good to see my money well spent on the valentine. Not the first time it has saved me......

My guess is that the crash could have something to do with wind. That road is notorious for powerful winds that could easily blow someone right off the road.

....ride that road everyday....winds just wind...Motukarara means...meeting place of the winds...can make you weave a bit, but I dont believe it would blow you over....lots of new grit, chip and shit was spread around it last week....lost the front for an arse clenching second last night on some loose chip around the same area...the rider was westpac'd out...hope all is well...

I saw the roadworks on the way out and thought must remember its there on the way back, looked like it was about the same spot they went down.
