Same thing happened to me.Have been into bikes 30 years.December 2008 got the bike i always wanted.Falco Sl 1000.ended up doing 15000 km in 1 year, every weekend or free moment on the bike and then November 2009 I could not be bothered taking the bike out anymore.Sold the bike and took up bucket racing.Get my kicks and rush out of racing 150 cc mtorcycle around kart tracks.Enjoy bikes and maybe one day might get a road bike again but for the moment I am happy and content racing a bucket once a month.

As I said on the phone the other day mate, perhaps it is time for some of the other things in your life to come to the fore. Nothing like abstinence to make you yearn for something again. I still can't believe you've managed to live and breathe nought but bikes for 30 years. I need at least 3 or 4 obsessions at any one time.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Over the past 30 years Bikes and bike riding have been my overriding passion.
I've lived breathed bikes for a long time.
Last few years since I opened our car/bike yard i've just got to feeling jaded at the whole thing. Kinda. "should I take the bike out for a ride--Nahhh can't be bothered"
I've remembered/rediscovered a whole heap of other sports i meant to try or was involved in and motorcycles just meant it couldn't happen.
I'm seriously thinking that I need to stop selling bikes so its not part of my life 24/7
Or maybee taking a break from riding for a lil while.
Has anyone else felt that way and if so how did ya deal with it?
Why do you come up with these questions that require evey one else to tell you how you should think. Jeez can you not think for yourself or are you seeking the approval of the masses to make you feel good about yourself?

Buy a Charlie Harrison, deck it, and your self out in tassles.
Wear a "badass" expression on your dial, and wobble to the nearest Starbucks.
That should have you sorted out.

Can you get someone to manage / run the business so you don't have to day in and out? Even for a while to see if it changes your view?

I.T was a hobby for me. I made it my job and 20 years later I'd give it away if I could afford to.

I'm one of those types that hobby != job.

.....been thinking about why I dont want to jump up and get out on the bike as early as possible on a free day like I used to....got the choice of what I ride and possibly some of the best riding roads in existence, starting about 30 meters from my gate......it IS NOT lack of love or loss of interest as far as I can work it out...its more about being involved heavily in the running of a racing club...my sons being involved in the game ...my wife deciding a couple or three years back that she wanted a bike and the life that goes with it...being fucking tired from running my own bizzo and not having the same amount of energy I used to have....all pretty similar reasons to the other posters who reflect your feelings....maybe a change is necessary....I know that five minutes into a ride, Im back in the groove...

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

That would have been our last ride mate. So it's my bloody fault.
    Sorry.

    LOL, how are you buddy?
I think Stify was referring to his last Kbe'r ride as the one we did over the Coro loop It was you and I who buggered it for him. ( I'm sure he had fun to though)

Race bike? I wish. I had enough trouble keeping my 14 in rubber let a lone a race bike.

    Mmmm.

I get like that from time to time.

Sometimes it takes someone close to remind you why you like doing something.

I know I get that feeling over summer with the boat, but the kids soon nag me out of it and I end up enjoying myself.
