Everything I need in Alexandra. The last time I did the 2 dayer I was pretty glad not to have to carry a blasted tent around with me (clearly not an issue this time), and the guy who dropped his sump plug was happy to have the assistance of the wider Nordie family.

Let's see you do it on a 125 eh? Then we'll talk about real men.
I was very happy to have the Nordie support team sort my drowned DR in record time!!
Still have not got the river crossings sorted on this bike eh Skinny B

Never had a problem on the R80GS/PD or R100GS

Would be great to have a support vehicle!

Maybe a day crossing rivers is in order, or just one river (middle of the Lees valley ride) back and forth many times adjusting technique.

I'll be ok without support vehicle this time, going to leave the video equipment at home so will have more than enough space for my sleeping bag and change of socks in that hole.

If I was carting a weeks worth of camping gear I'd go for either support vehicle to take it or a place in fairlie to store what i didn't need while on the Dusty ride.

    Ugh's about about right!

Hope you lot have your fillings in tight. Did another 20km bit of the route today in the 4x4. Rattled hell out of us but bikes will take it heaps better. Our son slept through it all. Not surprising he can sleep through an earthquake when he can sleep through that! Also I hope you like interesting bridges.

    Some teaser pics.

Due to an unfortunate incident Nooles has had to pull out of the DB. There is now one spare single spare room at the Gladstone if somebody wants it. First in first served.

    Cheers R

If any of you northerners want gear carried from Nelson to Fairlie PM me ,we will be running the camper as far as Fairlie (prolly via the West way) but unlike last year we're on our own Fairlie to Fairlie

    Getting to Fairlie

Do any of you northerners or top of the south riders have a plan for getting to Fairle yet.

I plan to cross over on the ferry on the wednesday morning and spend 2 days getting to fairlie and then 2 days getting home again after the dusty butt.

Would like to keep off as many of the main roads as i can.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

Stay away from SH1 and SH63. Molesworth and Rainbow spring to mind. Have a look here as a starting point.
