    Top O The South 20/12 to 24/12/10

Sooo, I am heading off to explore the top o the south for 5 days. Booked on Bluebridge 0930 sailing.Want to do as many of the back roads/big bike friendly tracks, as I can.Don't think the Molesworth is open on those dates.
Maling Pass and Edwards Pass look appealing as does Lees Valley/Okuku Pass further south.Apart from that, there are a confusing number of unknown options.Looking for suggestions and possible itineries.Probably stay round Nelson or Blenheim first night and gonna stay with my Dad in Christchurch night of the 23rd then quick fang up the coast or maybe inland Kaikoura rd on 24th for 2pm ferry.
Would be glad of company for all or parts of.Plan to camp out if weather cooperates.

One option might be to head from Nelson down hwy 6 with a detour down the Glenhope Rd, then hwy 65 (nice road riding) then head East via the Maruia saddle track, Braeburn track (& maybe the Porika track if your ability & the track conditons are suitable). Then head through the Rainbow to Maling/Edwards, then Hanmer & on to the South.

    Cheers
    Clint
