    And sometimes none...

    Yep,

Hit a patch of gravel mid corner yesterday, drifted across the lanes, hit gravel on the other side too then into a drainage ditch. Smash bang flip and roll etc.

Couldnt ride bike home... had to get it picked up.

    Left side is totaled.

Now about christmas.... everyone is getting a card this year as all my cash will be getting flushed down the Hyolet

One of those things I guess... Me? nothing broken, just a few bruises.

Don't worry, Katman will be along shortly to explain how it's your fault and you should have been able to avoid the crash...

Seriously, mate, that sucks and glad you're not badly hurt! Similar accident happened to me except it was oil and I was in my van. However I did break my back despite being in a big cage and at a low speed, so to walk away as you did is a huge relief!

Was it signposted? If not, report it to the relevant council.

Gravel on the road does not necessarily mean road works ... often large truck and trailer units drag it out onto the road (by the trailer cutting the corner) when the drivers dont ... or cant, take them wide ...

I have struck similar many times ... a few "offs" too ... sometimes not ...

lol so cynical, I'm learning to enjoy your posts though Katman.

sapperj, at least you're all good though mate, gravel sucks, especially the gravel tractors covering roads in fresh gravel, ie Woodcocks Rd the other week.

Great ride on a cruiser, must be a bit frustrating these days on the R6 though...

Yea although there are a few nice tight twisties closely linked together once you get onto West Coast Rd before you hit the gravel. A nice loop up SH1 Warkworth, Woodcocks, West Coast Rd, Kaipara Coast, Helensville and back home to Whangaparaoa.
