Easier to use than Blender but not as flexible.
Obviously this is rather late, but I'd recommend Cinelerra if you're after a professional grade OSS video editing tool. I haven't gotten around to trying it myself since I almost never do any video editing, but a friend who is does a lot of video work uses it extensively, and he does some pretty awesome stuff including chroma keying and 3D anaglyph.

Never had much luck with Cinelerra. Blender works fine but is a bit over-blown for what I need and kdenlive is drag n drop and does the trimming, transitions, volume control, fade to black and titling I usually use.

The Husqvarna ran over my Video cable....

I was trying a new mounting scheme for the Vio camera 1.5. Had it all set up on the indicator stalk and looking good, then....

The front wheel rotated and crushed the cable with the pins etc.....
Is there anyone out there that could replace the pins/plug and still retain the head unit. OR does anyone know of someone clever with video hardware? repairs...
The camera looks hard wired inside to the cable, otherwise maybe that could be replaced?
The unit has been discontinued but there are spare cameras around $199 USD!

    Such a Piss off!

I think everyone should forget every other camera and just get the best well proven GOPRO HD2. Any kind of mounting taken care of, all you need is imagination, and at the cost of some of these cams that you guys are talking about the GoPro is a barg. GoPro have a free download of Cineform editing software, I personally use MS moviemaker with no problems on length of vid, and have been recommended Cyberlink Power director (havent had a chance to give this a go yet) and just to top things off, a very good forum site for GoPro users with any question answered and shown so very innovative mounts and camera angles.

Too much fisheye. Although the new HD2 has some narrower options which should reduce it a bit...

There is a flat lens that is available in glass and plastic, this is mainly for scuba diving as the light refraction lessens the definition, dont forget this cam is waterproof to 60m

The GoPro needs loop recording and a wireless remote.

Y'all can stick your bloody helmet cams - I've got a criked neck from getting Nordies caught on blackberry vines & twisting my head back.

Still I can see now where I missed a spot on the ceiling

Don't know about any loop recording but I guess that with the battery bacpac its really only good for about 4.5 hrs anyway, and a 32gb card is its limit ( dont know of anyone using a bigger card) , you could hard wire a mini usb power cable but as you said "no loop recording" but wireless remote is available in Feb and maybe that will be able to stream wireless to a bigger harddrive ruling out the need to loop record and save all footage.
The wireless backpack will let you see what the cam is viewing to your smartphone and wireless stream to any wireless device, allowing the control of 50 cams ( matrix slowmo rotation scenes )

I believe the new one does loop recording. No remote yet that I am aware of though.
