    Unhappy Payback time

    Big Bro

From Monday ACC & the Police will be having road blocks targeting motorcycles checking them over with a fine tooth comb.

Conspiracy theorists may think: (Payback time for protestig about ACC levys)
    Surely not?

    Oh good…
It’s nice to know that we are being so well looked after by the police.
I often wonder if we get noticed at all, and now I know.
To soon be able to bask in the never ending embrace of love and concern that the police will be showing us.
That they still care for us after the sometimes unfavourable things that have been said in these forums by those who may have reacted a little rash over a slight miscommunication with our protectors, shows how forgiving that they can be.
To extend the hand of friendship, and support in these turbulent times will bring us all together, and may bring peace and understanding between us.
We all have our little obsessions...

How do you know this? And where will they be doing these checks? In Auckland or is it nationwide?

    It's called prioritising

the prisons are full, so they need to cut down on the criminals they arrest. My bike is a gazillian times better maintained than my Bluebird (I did wash it a few years ago, so i don't totally ignore it), so they will be wasting their time trying to find anything wrong.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.

Hear hear , overly officious pursuit of motorists at the expense of public safety should automatically be a criminal offence in my opinion.

I'm also wondering when the lack of a motorcycle rego/WOF was last responsible for an accident or road death...however, general motorist education and road safety messages about motorcycling to ALL motorists by the authorities should be encouraged.

Don't worry - as long as you stay here whining you'll be fine.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

If they rae doing "thorough checks" (which might mean warrant standard checks) then probably only about five or six - 10 minutes on each bike .. one hour to clear six bikes .. and more pile up behind ... the road is blocked ...

Are the police qualified to do thorough mechanical checks? I think not. They will only be doing thorough tax checks.
