When I left they were discussing how to get back across the road through the heavy traffic.

All the dim shit car drivers probably thought I'd committed some heinous crime...
Heinous crimes: Grey hair, Middle age spread, double income, bike type unsuited to age & let me think - there must be more.

Never had my lid checked before - I guess they can cos the helmet is meant to be up tp safety standards.

Indeed you can - but IIRC, the offence is "failing to display licence label" - so even though you've paid your fee, you could still be done.

Pretty certain this is just a pissy lil tit for tat aided and abetted by Nick the Dick.
Great use of tax payers funds.

Clearly it's pissing you off, so do something about it. Email the Road Policing manager in Dunedin and give him/her the bully so the boys can get them off the road, suspended/disq drivers are a major crash risk. Stats show they have a greater risk of crashing and when they do they won't stop for the obvious reason. Bet they're not insured either!

    What's the big deal.

They target groups all the time, just our turn presently.

They have a blitz on things like seat-belts, reg/wof (cars), road user tax, young men in lowered cars, drink drivers bla bla.

Lets face it - if you have everything up to date there is not a problem.

Smile & thank them for their concern.

Isn't it a nice feeling knowing that at least somebody out there cares about your personal welfare?

[QUOTE=pritch;1129912044] Had to take my helmet off so he could check it. [QUOTE]

I saw an immigrant riding a scooter today in central auckland with NO helmet on today, just his turban.

WTF with that? if this country gets so PC with immigrants that they can dictate what they can and cannot wear (on a motorbike), then expect our levies to increase even more!

How do you know he is an immigrant and not kiwi? (couldn't resist that)

I think I read somewhere that those chaps with turbans are exempt from the helmet law. something to do with the turban being a religious "hat" i'll have a hunt and see if I can find it.

i hope you got his license plate number so you can dob him in!!

Muppet beat me to it... make a phone call to the local cop shop - their rego, address and hey presto - watch that vehicle end up in the impound yard....

If this was Northgate, you were the only one that was up to scratch....

Spoke to one of the workers - they only stopped four bikes... 1 x disqually, 2 x no wof andone of them no motorbike license.......... Not good ....

Some "hobbies" are very expensive, such as flying planes and choppers....

Motorbikes aren't really any different an expensive hobby, are they?

If I have to pay for my rego and wof, so should everyone else. Why should I subsidise the lazy arses who "choose" not to, and then want the full treatment when it all goes tits up....????

Motorcyclists will be pulled over and spoken to at checkpoints throughout the Central District, which includes Palmerston North, Levin and New Plymouth.
Remind me to stick to the backroads

I have also seen this chappy. He was stuck behind a bus and some pedestrians were giving him flak for it. He did not take it lightly and started spouting abuse back at them.... he must get it a lot!

    Yes they are.

I've no idea what fees are paid by plane or helicopter owners - probably heaps?

I would have no issue with 'user pays' to people who have an accident and have not got current rego. Mind you if you also wear jandals and a swim suit on your bike and fall off I do not see why the state should pay for your stupidly.

I do have a issue with turban wearing people getting a helmet exemption on the grounds of religion - tough shit this is NZ, helmets are law, religion is a personal choice.
FFS if his worship Brian Tamati decides that his male church members should be allowed to take a 13 year old as a wife on religious grounds will they get a exception?

Back to police stops and targeting groups - they have ordered 60 odd Christchurch buses off the road in the past 24 hours on targeted checks. Off the road for being unsafe. Public buses your kids etc may be riding on.

If I was running for parliament I'd probably get voted in - then out 3 years later when the arses who make a life out of sucking freebies from the state band together against me.

See if he was made to wear a bloody helmet you'd not be able to hear him cursing.

I just print the reciept off and go and pick it up from the Post Shop the next day.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
