He wears a patka. I thought he'd retired?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
Hmmm. Police haven't even looked twice at me.
(8) A person is not in breach of subclause (1) if the person proves that at the time of the commission of the alleged breach he or she was an adherent of the Sikh religion.
Well holy shit! (no pun intended) this is new to me.
As a couple of others have said i dont care about what religion someone follows, thats cool, but not wearing a helmet on the road? Sikhs can find a helmet to wear over their turbans surely?
How does one prove that they are following the 'Sikh religion'? Just wearing a turban?
I'm sure that if it wasn't law to wear a helmet there would be a lot of riders who wouldn't.
So now they have an excuse and say they have a religous belief that forbids them to wear a helmet.![]()
Yeah - but surely you don't think they were there ALL day...????
That was the morning 15 minutes..... 4 bikes, 1 legal, 3 not. Didn't hear about the afternoon session.... didn't want to....
We wish... Took heaps of wickets and scored two centuries... mind you, it was only against NZ....
Ahh! That was him. I know he'd had finger trouble and disappeared for a while. Lovely bowler.
The patka is for less traditional Sikh's - usually. Obviously it can be squished into a helmet so it's probably an example of leniency so that he can participate in the National Religion as well as being a Sikh.

Not if:
- You applied for a vehicle license before the expiry of the last license label
- It's been less than 7 days since the last license label expired
- You've not yet received the new license label
- You were displaying the expired license label
Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986 Section 5 Subsection 3
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
