    Mt Eden Motorcycles - Help

    Hi all,

I've left my bike at Mt Eden Motorcycles a couple of months ago for repairs and since then have discovered that they've gone bust! Would anyone know how to contact Mike or anyone suggest what we would have to do to retrieve my bike?

    Please help!

    Thanks!

You left your bike with them for TWO MONTHS? Why'd you do such a thing?

Anyways, the companies website lists their current address, you can find that information here: http://www.business.govt.nz/companie...2512/addresses, along with the full addresses and names of the current directors on file.

If you leave/abandon your bike at a mechanics, it can be sold to "cover expenses".
A friend of my husbands had a Kawasaki ZZR 250 left at his workshop, as the owner didn't or couldn't pay for repairs. It was sold to cover expenses - legally.

The possibility of this happening to my bike would worry me.

Only if the work on the bike has been completed and the customer notified that the bike is ready for collection.

Then, after a lenghty period of time, the business can sell to re-coop costs, but only after a number of requirements have been met.

It doesn't sound like that is the case here.

The trick will be finding anybody that is allowed into the place, and ... allowing anything to be removed ...

If it is shown money is still owed on the bike to the shop ... the trick will be finding someone to pay, and/that can allow it to be removed ...

    Good luck ...

Now look what you have done.

Address for service is Markhams in Queen St in the City.

I'd give them a bell - I'm not sure the guys from Mt Eden would be able to help, even if they wanted to.

Good luck - hope you get your bike back.

You poor bastard, despite what some have said, anyone of us could find ourselves in this position, be 2 months or 2 days. If an outfit goes bust all they have to do is close their doors. The length of time you left your bike there is irrelevant. I left my bike at Sportzone (CH-CH) for weeks while they ordered a part from Japan. It was in pieces so what was the point in taking it home?

Thats true - my car was left in a workshop for a month while we NZ wide search for a replacement diff. Luckily the place went out of business a few weeks after I got my car fixed
