First someone on KB recently suggested fixing L-Plates to all of our bikes as a way of protesting, now it's public exhibitionism! If KB ever did that I would have to flee the country.

I suggested putting L plates on over-sized-engined bikes as a form of protest over what size learners can drive cars. And I stand by it and think it'd be an effective way, but looks like there's enough trouble over that as it is..

as for naked riding, as much as I love doing that on a regular basis, not sure it'd be a great idea.. I'd be happy for follow some of the female riders, but don't want to get stuck behind the guys (as much as I love you lot ).. Also, if you're the unfortunate one and stack it, that ain't gonna be pretty...

Us people on cruiser styled bikes are better off than you guys who are leant all the way over ya frame, i definately dont wanna get stuck behind that, no racing positions please !

Tee hee! It's actually illegal for a non-learner to drive/ride a vehicle with an L-plate fitted.

Unfortunately, the public no longer regard motorcycling as leather clad (and rather nasty) bovverboyz. Twas better when they did.

Nowadays they regrad motorcycling as very dangerous, silly, and irrelevant . And those who do it as prats, who should be stopped for their own good

Bring back the days when it was expected that we put chains thru headlights & windscreens? Personally that is the sort of tackle I'd prefer waving at motorists.

Is a driving instructor supposed to remove & replace his training vehicle's L plate every time he swaps seats with his pupil?

104.Prohibition on display of ``L'' plate except in appropriate circumstances—




A person must not drive, on a road, a motor vehicle that displays an ``L'' plate as specified in clause 66 unless that person—


(a)Holds a learner licence of the class that relates to that vehicle in accordance with Schedule 3; or


(b)Immediately prior to driving has been, or is about to be, accompanying the person in paragraph (a) in accordance with clause 16(1)(a); or

(c)Holds a driving instructor or testing officer endorsement and is driving a vehicle used for purposes connected with that endorsement.

Well said! At this time of the year the tan is definitely non-existent and I would probably cause anyone following me to fall off after being blinded by the expanse of snowy white flesh! And falling off when naked would have to hurt - I know it does when I fall off the bed, and that's usually at low speed
