That service no longer exist,Hasn't since the Kent was sold.........

As for getting a bike too Dunners ,as Joe said contact bike tranz I have found them good too use

there is also "bike movers" you may have too let your fingers do the walking......

you may consider a trucking firm but from what I have seen with some laying the bikes on there side and strapping too the deck its not a option I would consider...

both my bikes have arrived to my door safe and sound... and both came from Dunedin area, and transported to masterton.

as long as you dont want it delivered the next day...i found the company owners very helpful and friendly to deal with. ive meet the owners personally.

    just my thoughts..

your other option is to fly up and ride it home..

Yeah Bike Tranz should be good, I should have gone with them. Shipping my bike atm with NZ Motorcycle Movers, wish I had gone with Bike Tranz.

Moving bike I bought from Levin to Auckland. Asked them for an exact price to send it from Levin to my place (gave them my exact address) and they said yeah ok $295. So I happily pay this expecting to wait a good while for my bike, (they picked it up from Levin on 13/11).

I receive a txt sometime after saying "I google you, you are too far from motorway. You'll have to pick up bike 20km from your place". So obviously when I had asked for the exact price they hadn't even bothered to look at the destination address. I at that point didn't even have my learners, and no way to transport the bike myself! Which is why I had asked them to send it to my place in the first place.

Totally unprofessional! Needless to say I wasn't taking any of that crap and cited my rights as a consumer, so I'm still waiting for my bike to arrive. Hopefully on Tuesday. To my door, as this is what they promised me in the first place.

However haven't heard anything but pleasantness about Bike Tranz and their customer rapport.

I used NZ Motorcycle Movers to get my bike from Tauranga to Woodville. I found them to be professional and also the cheapest ones I could find - I rang round all the companies below (being a tightfisted bastard, probably cost more on phone calls than I saved). Dennis and crew did a great job as far as I was concerned, but we're talking about the same outfit superman had problems with so maybe bear that in mind.

NOTE there seems to be "NZ Motorcycle Movers" which I used and "Motorcycle Movers"; not the same outfit.

    Anyway here's some contact details:

Yeah, but my problem was rural specific, seems to happen a lot. Which I can understand, since I'm part of Auckland. They probably just assumed I was near a motorway because I'm in Auckland without checking my address.

Might not be much cheaper after factoring in plane ticket (at short notice) + ferry ticket for person and bike + petrol + possible overnight accomodation.

Can you get a fright company that goes from Dunedin port to Wellington via ship instead of over land? Don't know if that would be cheaper and might not be as safe.

No fright companies but perhaps the coastal shippers, Pacifica could help out. Problem there of course it they're container vessels so you'd have to book a whole box for one tiny little motorbike, once again, not cost effective.
