Sounds like you want a new Yamaha XTZ12 Grem'?
Almost al the attributes you require, without the Honda gayness.

I don't believe that, it's quite similar to the Versys in some regards and that has to be one of the funnest bikes I've ever ridden. It was an absolute blast. It's by no means a true dual sport, or a motard. It was just a great upright road adventure bike that was an absolute blast to ride.
Granted I have reservations about the engine in such a bike (hell, I even have a VFR800 and have always fantasized about having the Hornet engine inside such a machine because I prefer IL4 over V4 - personal opinion), but I'm absolutely holding reservation on two things; how it rides on a test ride and the price.
I personally can't see a VTEC engine being good for anything other than road unless it is extremely refined and polished, but I'm still pining for a test ride.![]()
How about I put the two of you in a ring and the winner gets the sale? I'm not defining winner eitherEither way, the money will be well worth the entertainment. Trashy, don't have a Yamaha dealer up here I trust. Considering I can visit a dealer twice in a month, or every 1-2 months is pretty usual for servicing, yeah, gotta be a dealer I completely trust.
Shush... no negative thinking here. Define soon as well. I can wait till 2012. Well, if the KTM still loves me long time. If not... uh, not a lot of option in my books.

Well I sugest you jump on the KTM for a weekend, get your arse down here, ride the XTZ and see if it's for you.
If you wanna make the change, I've got the contacts to ensure you're looked after service and backup-wise. Ya know me, and you know that I wouldn't talk typical salesman shit.

Yeah, no worries there. Chain drive and small fuel tank are the current problems with it that I can immediately see.
Looking for a large fuel tank to make it more viable. Anyone know if there is a large tank for the Tenere?
shouldn't have gone visiting the touratech site, I just lost half an hour![]()
