My first bike (scooter) was a Suzuki SJ125.

It was a total piece of shit.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Inspiring, although starting with crap wouldn't be a bad idea cause you only get more and more impressed as you go through better and better bikes.

First bike I learned to ride was a 2 stroker, rs250. I admired the design and all that crap. But what I most vividly do remember is the "FEAR" that came on every time I jumped on it. I was scared of it! It was addictive, it's like watching a horror movie except every time you turn away you immediately turn back in order not to miss the jolt!

    Strange memories.

Ha ha ! Dunno bout the being in love and cheshire cat bits, my first experience of two wheels was markedly different from all that.
When i was sixteen ( yes i can remember all that way back ), my parents promised me a new, ( well second hand ) bike as i had been banging on about it and hassling them for ages, so straight after my Birthday my father took me to an old farm where the guy lived, was advertising my stunning aquisition.
It was a BSA stepthrough moped, ( you had to do a manditory year on a 50cc machine before progressing up to 125cc ) with no gears and a petrol tank that was inside the tubular frame of the bike
That moped had a top speed of 30mph, and it did that speed everywhere ! over roundabouts ! round bends ! and in built up areas for the twelve long arduous months i had to endure it until i eventually swapped it for the immense Honda H100a which i used until i passed my test first time at seventeen
I suppose it is no wonder that now all the bikes i own must have a minimum of four numbers in the name.
Over the years i have been lucky enough to own some truly world class machines, and am very much looking forward to picking up my latest thrill toy in mid December, a 2007 Honda CBR1000rr Fireblade !
I have only been here since October and after talking to some guy in a bike shop that me and the Wife went to visit, i found that over here you can jump straight on and learn on a 250cc here!!! I know for a fact that if it was like that where i was back then I'd have even less mates than i do now, back then the machine of it's day was the Yamaha FS1E while you were learning then it was progression to either the Yamaha RD250LC, the Suzuki GT250 or the Kawasaki KHZ250 Triple now here you can jump on one of those Hyosungy thingy's and do 170kph !
What seems even more madness is they punish large cc bikers with the new Rego charges, makes a bit of a mockery of the whole system eh.
Anyhow, after that nostalgia trip down memory lane, whatever it is you are all riding, stay safe y'all.
    Cheers,
    Chaos.

I kicked over my first bike for 2 years until dad got the hint and helped me rebuilt the TS185.
2 years of kicking a bike with no spark plug.

Ah to be young and dumb
