Wonder if we will follow the japs

Just back from Japan and one thing that blew me away was the HUGE number of bikes, scooters and scoobikes (big ol scooters) there were with the riding style being like american chopper. Hands forwards and up and feet well forwards.Very few sprot bikes or even UJM style bikes.

To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

Depends on what riding you do...

I know when a rep from Honda Japan was being shown around, he couldn't fathom doing 1600km in under 24 hours.

If their riding is completely different, then they will have completely different bikes to do it with... same with any country me thinks

If consumers consider it the ultra cool thing to do,then they will do it.It's all about marketing - we market cruiser and sportsbike riders, people want to be seen in those categories.

    Personally no.

    Never say never of course but;

    I won't be riding a cruiser, ever.

Possibly more scooterage and less sportage because their licensing is much tougher than ours (so I believe).

I'll elaborate. My brother in law has a cruiser that I've borrowed a couple of times on holiday. It's sorta like real motorcycling cause you get the wind in your face.

I have friends who have Harleys and occasionally I'll put my dark glassess on and ride around making noise and scowling at people.

I guess for me I don't want a bike that cuddles me. I like the feeling that the bike has far more talent than I'll ever have. A Sportsbike means that your thrills come in a 'Grande' size cup. When the white lines suddenly do that Star Trek warp drive thing you know you're alive...

Just as well we're all different eh!

When the lines are blurring its safest not to take your eyes from the road

I'm sure the speedo says 100 something.

I ride an older crotch rocket

They've been doing that style for years now, even before my trips there buyers I knew showed me photos of them. Hasn't caught on yet. Get out to the country side on the weekends, you'll see plenty of sportsbikes then. One particular day I witnessed what must of been a GSXR club out, everything from oil-coolers through to new K3's, I stopped counting after 40. Visit Racing-World if you can, fantastic chain of stores in Japan. They don't sell bikes, but they sell everything else you can think of for bikes.

I'd go back to cars before riding a scooter or cruiser.

My opinion is sports bikes are safer if your not being a dick.
