Thumbs up Scenic drive what a work out for a noob!

It was great and scary stuck just a little bit above the recommended speed limits for corners.

One person overtook me crazy bitch was flying I was waiting to see her wreck down the road.

Some of those corners where tight! Key is not to panic going into them I guess.

Saw some super bikes going at it. Dude on a cruiser was driving really slow so I sat beside him then got bord of awkwardly look at each other as we drove down the road at 30kphr and slowly in a none aggressive way chugged past.

Yeah! I even hate the road in my car... Scenic drive you so crazy!

She was probably only just doin the speed limit.

JK, good to see your keeping to a speed your comfortable with, where is this road you speak of?

Its this horrid road full of city fork Auckland. With bends that recommend a speed of 15kphr and really tight lanes. Loads of cars crossing the center lane there.

Lovely bit of road but it's hazard central, you got to be well & truly on top of your game. I used to live out that way & witnessed some lunacy. Took 2 hours to get to Piha on a Saturday morning, dozens of cars stuck behind a learner driver doing a max speed of 30kmh. Not to mention the Lycra orgies on Sunday mornins & power rangers hanging over the centre line.

Yup I love scenic drive,I have ridden through there heaps of times.

The corners are the best part!!

The only problem you can get is when you get slow cagers getting in the way....

Yeah I have encountered a few cages travelling at around 25-30km/h,probably mostly tourists who don't know the roads...

    What car were/are you driving?

Look out for lichen on the road in the mornings as it's usually damp and slippery as hell (grows in the shady parts of the road).
Has it ever bothered you that Therapist is The Rapist if you break the word in two? It bothers me, especially when they suggest hypnosis.

You should try the road to Huia and Little Huia.

Less cars, better roads and awesome scenery. Won't disappoint.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

I lived on Scenic Drive for a while, pretty much at the centre point. If you want an extra bit of adventure, take Mountain road down to Candia rd and into Henderson (my old work commute).

Don't go out on the weekend and try to be a hero - go up and down the road a few times and let it grow on you. I had a huge amount more fun on a big twin sports bike compared to a screamy I4, but the V4 was just about perfection on that road.

Audi A4 sliding around the corner at 80kphr. Just had the engine rebuilt.

There are some great roads all around that part, I am lucky I get to ride them during the middle of the working day, quiet(er) and a real joy.
