Oxford Screamer alarm/disc lock - Issues

I bought myself an Oxford Screamer a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't able to use a conventional alarm since my bike didn't have a battery.

For $50 I thought it was perfect. Kills two birds with one stone.

As of a couple of days ago it's started to play up. Whenever I engage the lock it emits a constant buzzing noise. I'm a little pissed off. It's only lasted two weeks and now I'm without an alarm. My paranoia is pretty strong since I've had a bike pinched in the past.

Has anyone else purchased this lock or something similar and had this problem?

I'll be taking it back on Monday.

For now I have three heavy duty cables and chains anchoring my bike to the ground (paranoid? Yep).

surely if you took it to the place where you purchased it with your receipt there should be no problem in finding a solution to your problem instead of winging about it on the internets which won't

    ^ Woah, steady on.

I just thought someone may have had a solution or knew if it was a common problem.
