As others have already commented, if there is nothing wrong with your bike then any place will do.

If there is something wrong that you can't do yourself, then book it into a bike shop with the instruction "fix xxxx and WoF check". The fact that you have already identified a fault will help as they then know that you are out for a proper check and not just booking in because you have to.

Bullshit - I happen to take the responsibility of WOF inspections very seriously.

Having a WOF does not automatically mean it's legal.

If you get a WOF today, and then your brake light fails, that doesn't mean you are still legal for 6 months 'till the next WOF.

It's good enough for the cops though and keeps my 200 dollars safe and sound.

    Thanks guys.
as long as you're onto it and fix that shit up as well as keeping an eye out for any new problems developing then yeh, a wof is pretty useless and going for easy ones is fine. But for people who aren't onto it then you should go to a decent bike shop as it'll keep your bike safe. Personally I got a few mods (actually make the bike a lot safer) that fall into a grey area with certing, so I take it to VTNZ cos they don't notice em, but in taking it there I know they aint too thourough so it's my respnosbility to keep her in a safe state!

Is it just my perception, or has the standard of trolling on KB dropped significantly lately?

Probably one of those things that should, but are never checked...I've never seen an inspector shield a dash to check the light/s, nor have I been able to find one who works after dark.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
