I'd offer my DR250 as it does run....buttttttt it needs someone who knows what they're doing with tuning, as idling everywhere wouldn't be the best way to make progress! I have a carb rebuild kit but no idea if it's a 2 minutes job or an impossible one...

That's the tuning it to run on throttle etc, not the rebuild itself!

OT but if anyone has any guides or seen them about on 'how to tune a Mikuni CV Carb' it would be much appreciated (no rev-counter either).

I guess it's more to get a 'base' tune from where to start as I don't know what each bit does exactly

Here's the carb in question, if someone knowledgeable could point out what does what, and what I should be adjusting and when t'would be much appreciated.

Float level appears correct (cuts off at horizontal)

#44 is adjusted to middle of thread (7 turns out from fully closed)

And that's my ideas about used up, has been cleaned lots, very easy to dismantle

Have a look on thumpertalk, they have some 'carb tuning 101' guides 'n' stuff.
    Cheers,
