    police presence

went up to morrinsville to pick up an outboard so wasn't on bike and saw no police in the waikato but as soon as we got back into the naki region we got passed by an unmarked cop then passed a speed camera van on side of road then by the time i got back towards opunake i had seen 3 patrol cars all driving on the road.
does anyone know why there are so many cops in the naki.
    seen nothing elsewhere.

There has been a large Increase of police presence in wellington too. Since tuesday Understandable because of the rugby.

Saw 7 cars on the way home from tech at around 4, they looked like they were off on a bust SH1 ways..

I have read somewhere, that in some place that I cannot now recall, but maybe Victoria, this is exactly what they do. They call it Saturation Policing or some such name (can't remember exactly what).

The theory is that if the police are spread wide and thin, nobody is at any great risk of being caught. So people are willing to take the chance. If they concentrate on an area the risk becomes very high. People swing to a "too risky, won't do it mode". Then once the team leave for new pastures people don't realise they've gone , and the new mindset remains. Or something. It's all some psychological stuff that I probably once knew.

Got a memory like an elephant I have. (Did you know that elephants can get Alzheimers ?)
