National Enduro Waimiha - Spark arrestor?

The silver bullet event listing for the Waimiha enduro lists "important must haves" for riders:

IMPORTANT MUST HAVES ON EVERY BIKE!
    Spark Arrestor
    Fire Extinguisher
DO NOT USE... tear-offs. Anyone found using tear-offs will be disqualified.
Also, unless some rain between now and then... it might have to be postponed... watch this space.

Does anybody know if riders are going to be excluded if they don't have spark arrestors?

If it is compulsory has anybody fitted a spark arrestor to a KTM 300? KTM has a hard part listed for a 300....Do you need to re-jet with spark arrestors?

Wouldnt the factory rear can on your bike be considered a spark arrestor ?

    That's what I'm thinking?

Unless you've put an FMF Shorty on it or something, shouldn't be a problem?

A lot of guys just use fly mesh cable tied over end of exhaust when spark arrestors are needed

Fly mesh don't last long. Maybe a lap or two. Spend a couple of bucks, and buy a stainless steel sieve from the warehouse or similar. Keep it in the tool kit. Works great.

The factory can doesn't have a spark arrestor, the KTM oem spark arrestor for 2T is $15 or so USD. I think I will get some mesh as suggested below and put in the tool kit just in case. I don't really want to use one, I have read on a couple of forums that it will richen the fuel mixture and splooge up pretty quickly on a 2T.

hahah shows how much attenion I pay to what others put up here!

I know of another event that was 100% on two weekends ago only to be canned on the day due to dust so would bet the house on it though being a national event im sure its slightly different.
