    Thumbs up Bike Busters

The NZ project is turning out to be one of the best motorcycling "things" I've undertaken.

Mostly because people are genuinely helpful and intrigued when I tell them what I'm doing, but also because I've made a brilliant contact thanks to seeing an NZ250 advert on TradeMe. I did one of the most irritating things you can do on a TradeMe advert and asked a question that was completely off topic. The engine was for sale on an exchange basis (still is - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-157463271.htm ) so I asked "How much for the shock. Next thing I know, I have a much better condition shock than the one on my bike, a fuel tap, and the right hand footrest bracket and footrest for a very reasonable price. Wayne pointed out that the footrest bracket was broken (in the same place as mine, but with no metal missing, unlike mine) and would I like some money back?

    Crikey.

Instead of payment I asked him for the left rider's footpeg (mine is made up of cable ties - nearly as good as cloth tape those things) which he agreed to send down and he refused my offer to pay for postage.

They have a good selection of bikes, from old munt through to newer stuff and are obviously up for breaking a bike so you can get the bits you need.

Here's the current TradeMe stuff Bike Busters have available.

With petrol prices the way they are, resurrecting something old and cheap to run could be a good idea for a commuter.

I got the rear wheel and hub off that NZ250 a few months ago.

I found Wayne a little 'strange' to deal with but straight up and honest.

    +1 for Wayne.

Had all of the parts I needed to resurect the VFR and was great to deal with.

BTW, got the VFR running on Friday.....now all it needs are the pretty clothes...

I had a brief dealing with Wayne a while back, while searching for a part.

They had closed down for two weeks to go to a motocross champs (iirc) in the South Island!

Good on them. Take the family with them and have a break.

Wow, talk about difficult to get a hold of. First number disconnected, second number rings no answer, mobile off or outside the coverage area :/

Thanks for that, in my defence though I had followed a couple of links to supposed yellow pages listings for him and neither worked, will confess didn't try a new search of my own.
