Cheers for that little extra run Matt.
GPS recorded a time of 5 hours 34 minutes for me from departing the meeting point to getting in to the Gladstone after gassing up in Fairlie and a total of about 208km travelled.
Could be useful as a reference when people start asking those questions beforehand assuming it happens again.
Also big bikes with road bias tyres not recommended if it's wet and there's a bit of a gooey riverbed may be involved while getting to the start of the gorge which appeared hard work for those same big and loaded bikes... on road bias tyres
Made for good video though I suspect (haven't watched it yet to see)

but I'm feeling now I done it once I may revert back to taking the Van to the Dusty Butt starting point again as it was really nice last year having a gentle drive home down the long straight roads after Geraldiene.

Matt - thanks for a great day on Friday, a good warm up for the rest of the w/e. Hope you aren't too bruised after your flight?
    Cheers

    And we appreciate the effort

By the way, I think I need to look at one of "those" spare front guards you've got. I think the red would set off my eyes work quite well with the rest of the bike.

He only dropped it cos everyone was watching & I gave him a cheer when he came out of the river. Guess I jinxed him.

    Awesome ride Matt, thanks.

The Orari Gorge ride was great - one of the best for me in years. The Tiger made it with no dramas and inspite of the rain, it was a fun ride. Made it back to Auckland yesterday intact and unscratched after an abbreviated 1-dayer DB (600k).
Hope to be back next year, possibly on my other steed (WR450). Thanks Matt. Cheers, John.
