So, where do you go when you have at last got your dream bike?

You have had many bikes, but at the end of the tunnel there was this one that you knew would make all your dreams come true.

And then one day you managed to get her. You took her for a ride and she was all you expected and more.

But to get here you had been working on getting "upwards". And now suddenly you supposedly were at the top.

Was this it? Is this where it ends? Can nothing surpass this? Or...

To those of us who have gotten to our dream bike. What now?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

    Enjoy it

Wait 10 years, there'll be a better bike available.

In the meantime buy some tequila, cocaine and hookers and celebrate.

    Ah, the memories.

In 1972 I heard rumors that both Suzuki and Yamaha were developing rotary engined motorcycles. Suzuki apparently wre in the lead in their developement.

In early 1974 I heard a further rumour that Suzuki were preparing to enter production, so i went to my local Suzuki dealer and placed an order for one. The dealer (Holland and Bell Suzuki) were a bit put out that a customer was ordering a bike that they knew nothing about and that Coleman's (now Suzuki New Zealand) hadn't even heard of. However in December 1974 I received a phone call to say that 12 of them were coming to New Zealand, and I could have the first one. But, yes a big BUT, would I mind if they used my one as a trainer for mechanics to work on at a training course? I agreed, provided I could also attend the course. Signed sealed and delivered.

I finally took delivery of my RE5 in March 1975 and wow..... A good friend of mine had a Lotus Elan sports car, and that was quick and it could handle. He was pissed off when I blew his Lotus into the weeds while still running in.

35 years later and I still love that model.
    Time to ride

    Hell no

Currently have a KTM, brilliant bike, previous was a ZX10R, which was a dream since I was a learner. Now I look past the KTM, my needs have changed, and something else takes my fancy.

As your requirements change, so does your dream. Achieve and create a new one.
