Bit of a thread dredge - can anyone confirm that BP put the prices of their fuel up 5c today?
How's Crazy Steve getting around these days?![]()
can't confirm that but i did hear that the price per barrol of oil had gone up $12 per barrol and that was going to put our price up by 12cents so it wouldn't surprise me if they did.
I hope not, I know things go up but they are making such huge profits (as are the governments that tax fuel) at a time that people are suffering all over the world... Capitalism sucks at times![]()

Be thankful that the "global recession" is still happening. Once economies fire up again the demand for fuel will increase. Remember at peak price a barrel of oil went up to almost US$150. It is currently somewhere around US$80.

If you don't pay rego it works out ok. This has 2 consequent effects:
That you need to pay more attention on the road and drive carefully, therefore a)increasing fuel economy and b)lowering risk of accidents.
I don't pay rego on car and bike and am finding it ok if I take the bike as much as possible. With a ZX6R @ 4.4L/100km it's pretty cheap if you drive carefully and carry speed around corners employing general basic hypermiling technique.
In the larger picture of things though, it will definitely affect us all rather soon. Humans have an insane addiction to oil and as we pass the crest of peak production, we will now not be able to adapt fast enough to it's shortage and extinction.
The choices for me are to either pay the price and enjoy the last of petrol powered supersports bikes right now or to try and adapt as early as possible and find another more feasible substitute form enjoyment.
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.
just checked the cardlink price watch website and 91 is $2.028 and premium is $2.179 at bp and $2.099at shell. so unsure if it has gone up but im sure i paid about that last week when i filled the bike up.
Diesel seems to have rocketed more in the last coupl of years.
The van I use for work took $52 to fill two years ago, yesterday it took $76
Time to re-evaluate work hacks maybe...
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
it costs us over $100 to fill our honda and $78 to fill out isuzu diesal and we get more milage out of the diesal than the petrol honda so i still think it is a bit cheaper to have a diesal but i may be wrong.
