Now you'll have to come visit us strange South Islanders.
lol our longest ride so far has been an hour one way... I think right now the South Island is a little too far away... but I'm sure we'll get there someday (I wanna tour NZ on a bike before I go and tour any other country)

    Cool

Congratulations....well done to you and your partner.

Ride with your visor down and wear a bandana across your face, then you wont suffer with burnt/sore lips when going at faster speeds.

It also keeps the bugs out of your face and eyes when the visor is down.

I havn't tried that, thanks I'll buy some and give it a go... It just sucks when you've had a good ride and you take your helmet off and your lips are burning...

Yeah I always ride with my visor down, when on normal roads I have it open about 1cm to let air in because I'm not going fast, but when on the motorway or open roads I have my visor completely closed... The wind/air blows in from under the helmet... I tried using a bandana/scarf... but it was uncomfortable...

I have a piece of material (brushed fluffy stuff like the inside of sweatshirt) velcro'd under the chin piece - stops all air draughting up onto my face.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Years ago there was a band called Sparxx. They did a silly song called Batteries Not Included. Still holds true today.
