    Night Ride Dec 31

Going to head into the city at about 10.30 tonight, get an advantage point along the North/Western somewhere to watch the pyro display on the Tower.
    Nice night for a ride....

Well as it turned out, Bayswater Mariner/Devonport.....brilliant spot!
Beautiful night for a ride, 18 degs all the way home.
I video'd the whole thing, all 7+ minutes of it.
Skytower, while looked awesome, was over shadowed a tad by the display on the water.
I'll get it up on youtube tomorrow sometime and post it, fingers crossed it'll turn out ok but being there was one of my better ideas this year...

That's too funny. My wife and I biked in. Cruised around town before stopping at Albert Park by the University, lying on the lawn we watched the fireworks before heading out to Mission Bay past all the cars going nowhere.

Ended up having Burger King at about 1.30am.

A great night for riding and we only saw two bikes. One at the university and one at Mission Bay. None riding around town or anywhere else.

The car cues everywhere were long.

I was really surprised at the lack of bikes.

Oh hell yeah, Bayswater Rd was stream of red lights heading back to Lake rd after the event but the right hand lane heading in was completely clear...way to easy on a bike. Lake rd? not a problem either.

The footage I got is fucken awesome but to big to load on the pc (so it says) will have to get some advice on how to upload the video.

My watch said it was 10 mins worth of bloody marvellous pyrotechnics! Most certainly the barge was providing the better display.

Also had to chuckle over the parking lot out west! Glad to not be in a car.

If you get an error from youtube, then trying to upload direct wouldn't work either (along with a bunch of other reasons).

You probably have to edit the video to reduce quality, which reduces size etc.

All good, its currently nextdoor uploading to our Utube account, we managed to upload it to thier pc followed by a few beers...it was still at 12%done when we left 10 mins ago, the wait will be worth it. All done on my Nikon S570 on a tripod resting on my helmet.
