Not advocating anything here , or taking any position .
But--- when i was a wee lad, one night my father took me (and Mum) in the car and parked outside Mt Eden gaol. Just at twilight. Sat silently for a while. So I said " Dad, whats up" or some such.

He said , "See the gaol ?" . "Uh yeah" (Could hardly not see it , fearsome looking building to a young kid). "Well, tomorrow morning , before you're up , they're going to hang a man in there". Silence " Uh, why, what'd he do". "Killed another man. That's murder. So he'll hang". Lonnnnnng silence. Drive home (pretty silent). Next morning , got up "Uh Mum, you know that guy , the one last night, in the gaol, uh did they uh , um ". "Yes, he was hanged this morning. That's what happens when you kill someone".

    Loonnnnnnnnnnnnnng silence.

    Never fogotten that .

Message - act inappropriately, you will lose your quite considerable livelihood.
All handled by the League's own system.

And really, it's not like he beat other players so bad they ended up in the casualty ward covered head to toe in cuts & brusies. That's the kind of assaults courts deal with.
The thing is, it's someone playing along by the rules of the game, and then someone else decides to take things in to their own hands, fuck what's just, and stick an elbow, first, etc. in to someone elses head. I think the guy in Finger F@#%r's case got away with a straight concussion, but there have been others, like this Ice Hockey player one time, who ended up with permanent short term memory failings and loss of some motor functions. That case would wind one up in court at least.

Again, the fact that they're doing these acts as respected people on national television is why they should have it extra hard in my view.

Pleased you managed to do somthing Quasi, not sure if my wife had been with me i would have done the same! I not sure what can be done about this shit.I am told it happens around that area quit allot. It happens in Raglan too. Just the other night a friend of mine was walking home and 6 young fucks just bashed him silly,he is a very big guy but they still got the better of him. I just think they watch far to much crap on TV and are not very well educated and i agree we need more police walking the beet instead of sitting in flash cars trying to catch speedsters.Shocking for the wife and kids. Hope the move goes well .

    Nothing wrong with that?

Standard issue firearms are Glocks and bolt action Remmington model 7's, (no scopes). They are getting new rifles soon however, which is a very good move.

By the way I am quite competant with a Glock, (won a prize for weapons training at cop college and have always scored perfect scores on requalification shoots) but would never consider for a moment trying to shoot an offender in the leg.
Shooting an offender in the leg is f'in stupid. It is a small, moving target, adn if you miss, or the bullet goes stright through, then Mrs Jones down the street could get a fatal surprise...
You are a better pistol shot than most of the cops who use the range I belong to for their qualification/ practice. We can always tell when the cops have been - there are more holes in the roof of the shelter.

Nah, I'm but a child. Must be Mrs Ixion is always telling me I'm well into my second childhood.

Mind you, she's always telling me I'm a silly old fool, also. But a while ago someone told me I was a bloody young idiot when I blatted Li'l Ratty around the rear of his cage at the servo.

    So I'm really totally confused.

[at this point, Mrs Ixion, reading over my shoulder , instructs me to tell you that I'm all of the above , and a blatherskate to boot. Yes, dear]

[She has gone away now. I am glad that Mrs Iixion is a technophobe, so there is no risk of her hijacking my account in the fashion of Ms Chrissy-Bimbo or Ms Biff. I do not like to think of what the result might be if Mrs Ixion were let loose here]

Aye, tis pronounced the same as "jail". Gaol is the English word, "jail" is american. Like ass and arse. Mr Hitcher is slipping, letting "jail" through.

Outspoken yes, rebel no! He always claimed his 'authority' was God, and he never rebelled against Him.

Rebelling against the 'powers that be' has always been wrong George, whether that be the Police, your Employer, your parents, et al.
