I was talking to the first adult on the scene (some kids saw it happen and came and got him) and he told me this: when he arrived the guy appeared dead - not breathing and no pulse. He couldnt do mouth to mouth as the guys face had been too rearranged. He did chest compressions for about 15 min until the ambos arrived, during which time he came around and faded a few times. Once stabilised by the experts and helecoptered to hosp for treatment (and have his face stiched back on) he made such a recovery within 2 days he was able to call my aquaintance and thank him.
