Brilliant pics...how cool to have these reminders of how your dad lived his life. Awesome.

My father rode a bike once, but I've no pics of it. Should've taken one of him wobbling down the road on my first bike (CB175), the day the car was out of action and I was sick, so I lent it to him to get to work on. He said it was OKish, until he got to the first corner. He didn't crash though.
However (but!) we have some really nice photos of my father-in-law (that we dug out for his funeral photos) when he was touring NZ on his MAC Velocette - very Marlon Brando-ish, with the bomber jacket, fag in his mouth, looking cool for the photos. Probably why he never hassled my about my bikes, or taking his daughter on them.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Just a thought; I think the bathtub enclosure on the Thunderbird 650 came in in 1961, so is the date on the Triumph your dad's recollection or your estimate? I have a soft spot for the Matchless, having had a couple of similar era singles and a later AMC 650 twin, still registered somewhere in NZ. I'd love to know where.
