    Jammy devil!

I really am a right jammy devil.

Following some guy on a silver CBR1000RR on southern motorway today. For some reason we were both boosting it a bit, just making a bit of noise no speeding really. Just as we found an open stretch of course the throttles wind on but then HALT- just spotted the tell-tale rear lights of an undercover police car in time (Always check every Holden for the plastic squares in the back glass). Anchors on and just avoid passing him, somehow that CBR had disappeared. I could see him fixated on me in his mirrors. I knew he'd stop me, he would have heard the sound from quite a while back. As I remained near the side of him I thought how on earth am I getting out of this one... better get ready to break the bank. Yeap, the lights went on... but suddenly I noticed the next exit was coming up so I held the position and at the very last moment, threw her hard over and shot across his back on to the off ramp and watched him cruise on bewildered, lights still blazing. Could only laugh to myself. T'was the last I saw of him!!!

Anyway, that was my adventure today. Anyone else got any short stories for the day?

Ride safe guys, take it easy out there.

I'd make sure you're not home tonight, if he got your plate you'll have a lot of explaining to do.

Read the story again, copper was in front of biker the whole time....we don't have front license plates, remember?

Note, I'm not condoning the biker's actions or even necessarily believing the story, really what is happening here is that I have just had a good rant about people who don't read and absorb information properly to a colleague (I'm training some people at the mo), and this thread has come along at the right time for me to poke my oar in. :-) Have a nice day!

I was only working off the idea that the cop might have got a glimpse as he was along side... the story doesn't really describe the exact position of his number plate to the cops line of sight at the time.

What really matters is that we should ride safe and take it easy, you never know when those pesky cops are going to try mess with your right to speed.

Do you go there often? If the cop was really after you, I have little doubt that he will now be looking for any excuse to stop any 'fire-breathing' Duc he sees, most likely just any motorcycle.

Used to happen to me all the time in the RD350LC days, was another one in town ridden by a total larrikin. I'd often get stopped and be told I'd been spotted playing up numerous times.

Since it was a small town I was able to educate the officer on the differences between our bikes, our gear, and more importantly our riding styles. Felt like hitting up the other guy about it myself actually, except i'm not that tuff.

Didn't stop the cops from stopping me every time they saw me though.

    Keep laughing.

I was coming down Hewletts Rd towards the Tauranga Harbour Bridge and a bigger bike went passed in the centre lane (NB. most bikes are bigger bikes, I'm still on my Restricted for another 6 weeks or so). I pulled out and tailed him over the bridge and over the on ramp on the Tauranga side. As we were coming down onto Takitimu Drive off the over ramp I noticed the speedo was reading between 120 and 125 km/hr (OK, OK, there was a following wind and we'd come down off the ramp so I was keeping up, full throttle on the GV250 though). Lovely sunny day, just a nice feeling to be following this guy.

About 2/3 of the way to the roundabout on Takitimu Drive I noticed a set of flashing blue and red lights coming up fairly fast in the mirrors. F*@K!!! This is an 80 km/hr zone!!! I pulled over into the left hand lane, and the Police car went passed me and pulled up behind the bigger bike in front of me. WTF, is he going to pull him over and let me go?

The rider in front pulled over into the left lane as we came up towards the roundabout, and the Police car roared off around the roundabout, I swear it cornered on two wheels, and disappeared off down the road. Must've been something more important than a couple of speeding bikers.

At the roundabout, I pulled up alongside bigger bike and brushed the sweat of the brow of my helmet. I think he was as releived as I was. If you're out there, that was a great couple of minutes, made sweeter by us getting away with it. Thanks for taking me along.
