I just read in the latest BRM that the full HD track will not be finished until it is needed. ie until they secure a international event that requires it!

Someone send them an email from Bernie E saying 'surprise, we'll see you next year'.
Wow, what a surprise.
Where are all the people yelling "I've personally seen a signed letter of intent from WSBK, they'll be here in 2012"?
Hahahahaha, suckers.
Track doesn't actually need the extension though, once the pit facilities are complete it'll still be the best track in NZ for my mind.
Vote David Bain for MNZ president
Lol, yeh what a f*cken surprise!
As for being the best in Enzud..... I don't think so. It NEEDS that extension.
Drew for Prime Minister!

www.prospeedmc.com for parts ex U.S.A ( He's a Kiwi! )
Most of the fuck ups at Hampton Downs are walking around the pits mate.
I reckon it needs the extension to confirm it's the best track in the country. At the moment it's debatable, but with the extension it'd be undeniably the best.
Zen wisdom: No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. - obviously had KB in mind when he came up with that gem
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity
I haven't ridden it, but I reckon Ruapuna is pretty hard to beat as a riders track!
Actually wanker, there's as simple a document of a contract stating "We will be there if you extend to this level". Banks will lend on this basis so the work can be done.
What we LACK is a promotor to take the financial risk on booking the event. And rightly so. They'll be a couple of million dollars upside down
Vote David Bain for MNZ president
I vote for all those people that say it's not the best, has things wrong with it and needs the extension, to put their money where their mouths are
I, for one, love taking risks for much loved projects myself but fuck me if that's not one of the biggest financial risks anyone could ever take - building a motorsport park.
Yes they're moving slowly with development but they're are still moving. As for the extension, if it was me, I wouldn't build it until I finished a few others things and got got some definite condition contracts. They've already risked truckloads of money. There's no way they should risk more.
They've got big plans and they'll take some years to come to fruition but all top-class facilities do. They're doing reasonably well for the amount of population they're catering to.
It's still better than that shithole Pukekohe any day of the week
Best track in NZ? maybe with the extension, but it's not a hard track to learn, Levels would be more challenging to get right
As a complete learner when it comes to track riding, having ridden HD on my coal burner, it took time to get to know what happens where but otherwise I was completely happy with the track surface, the lines and the banking.
Having the extension would be nice to be able to really wind the throttle full over but otherwsie I'd ride there again in a heart beat with or without the extension.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
Actually cock face, have you seen this "document"
and a Bank aint going to lend shit on the basis of said document stating if you do this we will do this..............."promise we will really" especially to a racetrack that cant get "said" promoter as he dont exist n this country.
Ive run out of fucks to give
This has been done to death guys. To run a class A-C event is going to cost millions!! We simply don't have a sponsor or partnership able to fund anything close to the money required to but the license let alone host the event. The circuit doesn't meet the basic requirements as it is let alone length, any extension would still require the existing track to be modified to comply.
Speaking to one of the Tony's (the tall one) a few months ago there isn't any chance of an extension because it makes no business sense in the current financial environment.
NZ will not be hosting an international class A-C event at HD any day soon guys.
