I feel like heading back to the mainland this March. Anyone else from the manawatu region planning on heading down south this year?

Well anycase if I can't visit Scumdog then I'll proberly just hang around the top of the South Island and proberly the West Coast too. Don't want to imagine the fuel cost if I try the loop on a Firestorm

Nah, save ya pennies now and spend them there. Compulsory to do a lap of the Island at least if you go to the trouble of hopping on the ferry...

Me and the better half are nipping over for a week straight after homegrown.
if anyone can hint towards bike friendly digs as far south as Queenstown, be very grateful. No planned route as such, just doing a few roads on the bike that we've only seen in a camper.
