Gotta buy new boots, so wanna see if there are better models for our riding

So, did a search .... and yeap a screed of useless info popped up.

So all I wonna know for ADv riding has there been a general consensus on a brand or model that is better for road/adv/trail riding.

Gotta get some for DB thou cos I took mine to the local Cobbler who says my sole are injection molded soft poos that he can not successfully graft new soles to!

They are snow board boots to so maybe it is time to step up to the real world.

No consensus. People use all sorts of stuff.

I've got proper MX boots which I use for trail rides and sometimes short gnarly/dirty adventure rides. Too stiff, bulky & uncomfortable for use on long trips or much walking.

I've got waterproof road boots which are used for the bulk of adventure rides esp. touring. Don't care how wet/muddy they get, but they are more comfortable to wear.

Used to have only a pair of Styl Martin "Safety 1" boots, which were a cross-over. MX-style buckles down low, road boot type top, waterproof membrane, weight of construction somewhere between the two. They worked very well, a good compromise.

Same as Colin, just use Sidi road boots, comfortable, light and waterproof, I found MX boots way to bulky for adventure riding.

Recently got a pair of forma adventure boots. Great boots plenty of protection but still very comfortable for all types or riding. Great off road and on. Highly recommended.

Its not easy!

I really like the Forma Adv boots I have atm...good protection,really comfortable for walking etc but they are not cheap!

Sidi Discovery's or just go full monty and get Crossfires, they are built like tanks but feel like slippers.

I got fox mx boots with tread. Once they are soft they are good , but I took the buckle off where my ankle pivots for better mobility. I get a blister on my gearchange toe on long rides so wear thick socks to avoid this, otherwise fine on long days. Not waterproof and would buy again.

My dririder road boots fell apart very fast when I discovered standing.
