    Insurance - WTF!

So I'm the proud owner of a yammy R6! I paid for most of it out of my own pocket but need to get finance for a couple of grand. No beef to the fianance company they were really good, they even recommended a good insurance company - State.

So i gave state a call, jump through all the right hoops and got a quote - $1500 per year! i mean WTF!

So who do you recommend and how much should i be looking at?

    People speak highly of Kiwibike.
If you are over 30, give Classic Cover in Hamilton a call.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

yeah, don't go through a "household" insurance company. They know fuck all about bikes.
Try Kiwibike for a quote, they almost halved my premiums from previous co. Vero

Agree , go to Kiwibike motorcycle insurance , they are brokers for a number of companys , currently the best of those seems to be Protecta , Jenna or Donna will give you the best , I have been with them for years and they are great, no hassle , and excess is normally around $250 with roadside assist , have saved my mates up to 350 bucks by putting them onto them, after been ripped off by the likes of State and NZI etc.

+1 from me for NAC, they were by far the cheapest, plus they have been friendly on the phone, and offer 24 hour roadside assistance.

Haven't had to lodge a claim though...that's when all insurance companies get dodgy...

State are fucking skewed when it comes to motorcycles. The ZX-14 is $38 a month, the Hornet 900 was $36 a month... the VFR800 skyrocketed to $105 a month - I called them and managed to get it down to $80 a month but even that is ridiculous.

I had a quote from Kiwibike at a good deal cheaper + gear + track days, all I need to do is remember to call them!

I reckon take a punt and go it alone, i.e. don't bother with insurance.

so if Kiwibike give me a quote for $1500 a year... I wonder what these others would give me?

I know Protecta was over $2k...
